My name is David McCallum, I am a P.G.A qualified professional and have been involved in coaching the game since 1991. Having given over 40,000 lessons in the UK, USA, Germany and Asia I am now the Coach at Old Course Ranfurly in Bridge of Weir.
There are too many people to mention here as I have read thousands of books and articles on golf, technique, psychology and teaching, but there are a few who stand out as major influences in my learning.
- Adam Hunter was the first coach who taught me by using a system and opened my eyes to a new way of coaching
- Martin Hall inspired me to learn everything I could about Homer Kelly’s book The Golfing Machine
- Brian Manzella and his advice on how to achieve the fastest results for my pupils
- Geoff Mangum and his truly remarkable knowledge of everything putting
- Butch Harmon on how to coach golfers rather than teach them
- Mac O’Grady on understanding the golfswing at another level of detail
I honestly believe as Ben Hogan did that every able bodied golfer should be able to break 80 for 18 holes of golf. To go a step further, I also believe that anyone who can carry the ball 220 yards or more from the tee can shoot level par or better!
My aim is to help people make that happen!
